VinFast made its debut in India at the Auto Expo 2025, and both electric SUVs are already listed on its website in India.

VinFast, the Vietnamese carmaker, is all set to launch its first products in India which will be the VF6 and VF7. VinFast till date hasn’t mentioned which will be its debut model in the country. But given that, both the VF6 and VF7 were spotted testing at a testing track, it can be implied that the launch is imminent.

The VF6 and VF7 are already listed on VinFast’s Indian website and are said to be available in four colour options. Both the electric SUVs at the testing track were spotted in multiple variants and colours. The VF6 can be seen in Brahminy White and Jet Black, while the VF7 can be seen in Jet Black and a new Green that isn’t listed on the website. This could mean that the Green car is only here for testing and that it may not launch in India, or VinFast could consider bringing it to a later date. Two VF6s (a Black and a White) could be seen with smaller alloy wheels finished in Silver, indicating they’re a lower spec variant, while the other cars had larger alloys finished in Black.

VinFast is yet to confirm the specifications of the VF6 but expect it to get a single battery pack and multiple electric motor options. The lower variant will likely have a single-motor setup sending 174 bhp and 250 Nm to the front wheels. The top-spec variant will likely have a dual-motor setup with 201 bhp and 310 Nm being sent to all four wheels. Both variants are likely to have a 59.6 kWh battery pack, with the lower variant getting a claimed range of 399 km, while the higher variant has a range of 381 km (claimed).

The VF7, too, has a single-motor and dual-motor setup. The former gets a front-wheel drive layout with 201 bhp and 310 Nm on tap, while the latter gets a 348 bhp, 500 Nm setup. Both variants get a 75.3 kWh battery pack, with the lower variant having a claimed range of up to 450 km, while the higher variant having a claimed range of 431 km.

Expect the VinFast VF6 and VF7 to launch in India before the festive season. But it is unsure which will launch first. The VF6 is likely to be priced at around ₹35 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and will compete with the likes of the Mahindra XEV 9e, BYD Atto 3 and the upcoming Tata Harrier EV. On the other hand, the VF7 is likely to be priced around ₹50 lakh, challenging the BYD Sealion 7, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and BMW iX1L.
