Apple Maps is preparing for the upcoming F1 film by featuring a slick Monaco Formula 1 track guide. It marks a first-of-its-kind technology collaboration for a movie.
Apple, a key supporter of the upcoming F1 film, is enhancing its Maps app to celebrate the movie’s debut.
From 15 May 2025, the app will feature a guide showcasing Formula 1 tracks. This has started with a highly detailed rendering of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit, aligning with the race on 25 May.
Apple Maps’ “Detailed City Experience” is rolling out across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, offering vibrant 3D visuals of not just Monaco’s F1 track, but also its buildings and landmarks.
These adapt for day and night views, alongside enhanced public transit data, navigation aids, and “windshield views” of complex junctions from a driver’s perspective. The Monaco track itself includes marked corners, 3D grandstands, and subtle in-map ads for the film.
Following Apple’s precedent with the Las Vegas Grand Prix, where it created a high-resolution track map, Monaco’s circuit receives similar treatment. The app highlights race-specific details, making it a treat for fans.
Other Formula 1 circuits will gradually join the app’s guide feature, though specifics remain sparse. This guide promises to captivate F1 enthusiasts who enjoy exploring interactive maps.
The F1 film marks a unique milestone as the first movie promoted through a major tech app update. Apple Maps’ integration not only elevates the film’s visibility but also enriches the fan experience with immersive navigation tools.
As the movie nears its premiere, this tie-in underscores Apple’s growing influence in entertainment and technology.
