The scheme is currently operational at approximately 1,150 toll plazas on National Highways and National Expressways across India.
The National Highways Authority of India's (NHAI) FASTag Annual Pass has achieved a significant milestone, crossing 25 lakh users within two months of its launch. The initiative, introduced on 15th August 2025, has recorded approximately 5.67 crore transactions across the country, demonstrating strong adoption amongst National Highway users.
The FASTag Annual Pass offers National Highway users a convenient and cost-effective travel solution, eliminating the need for frequent FASTag recharges. Available for a one-time fee of ₹3,000, the pass provides validity for one year or 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever comes first. The scheme is currently operational at approximately 1,150 toll plazas on National Highways and National Expressways across India.
Designed exclusively for non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag, the annual pass activates within two hours of payment on the existing FASTag linked to the vehicle. Users can purchase the pass through two platforms: the Rajmargyatra App or the NHAI website. The straightforward activation process has contributed to the scheme's rapid uptake amongst highway users.
The FASTag Annual Pass is non-transferable and remains valid exclusively at National Highway and National Expressway fee plazas. However, at toll plazas on Expressways managed by State Governments, State Highways, or local bodies, the FASTag will deduct payments from the existing wallet balance. This means users must maintain sufficient balance for State Highway tolls, parking, and other non-National Highway transactions.
