Around 28 percent of total registered FASTag users for passenger vehicles have availed the annual pass.
The FASTag Annual Pass has crossed a major milestone, registering over 50 lakh users and recording more than 26.55 crore transactions within six months of its launch. Introduced on 15 August 2025, the initiative aims to enhance ease of commuting by offering private vehicle owners a seamless and cost-effective toll payment solution on India’s National Highways and Expressways.
The rapid adoption of the Annual Pass highlights its growing popularity among highway users. As per official data, nearly 28% of all car transactions on the National Highway network are now being conducted using the FASTag Annual Pass, underlining its increasing acceptance as a preferred toll payment option for frequent commuters.
Usage trends across individual toll plazas further reflect this shift. Bijwasan Fee Plaza in the Delhi NCR region has emerged as the top location, with around 57% of all car crossings being made using the Annual Pass. This is followed by the Mundaka Fee Plaza in Delhi NCR and the Jhinjholi Fee Plaza in Sonipat, both of which have reported approximately 53% of non-commercial vehicle crossings through the Annual Pass. These figures indicate strong penetration in high-traffic corridors and commuter-heavy regions.
A region-wise analysis also reveals widespread adoption across the country. Chandigarh currently leads in terms of FASTag Annual Pass usage, accounting for 14% of total transactions nationwide. Tamil Nadu follows with a share of 12.3%, while Delhi contributes 11.5% of total transactions. The data points to balanced uptake across northern urban centres and southern states, demonstrating the nationwide appeal of the initiative.

The FASTag Annual Pass is applicable at around 1,150 fee plazas across National Highways and National Expressways. It allows users to make unlimited toll payments up to either one year or 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever comes earlier, against a one-time fee of ₹3,000. The pass is available exclusively for non-commercial vehicles equipped with a valid FASTag.
Activation is designed to be quick and hassle-free. Once the one-time payment is made via the Rajmargyatra App or the NHAI website, the Annual Pass is activated on the vehicle’s existing FASTag within two hours. This eliminates the need for frequent recharges and helps ensure uninterrupted travel.
