The Ferrari 849 Testarossa carries forward the same 849 Testarossa as the SF90 Stradale but offers more oomph.
Ferrari has officially launched its new flagship in India – the 849 Testarossa. Globally unveiled in September 2025, the Testarossa serves as a direct replacement for the outgoing SF90 Stradale. Ferrari has priced its latest prancing horse at a base price of ₹10.37 crore (ex-showroom), before options kick in. Bookings for the same are now open while deliveries are expected to commence in H2 2026.
The 849 Testarossa is deemed as a direct rival to the Lamborghini Revuelto. The car draws its name from Ferrari’s iconic “Testa Rossa” heritage, a term first introduced with the Ferrari 500 TR in 1956. The name referred to the distinctive red cam covers fitted to Ferrari’s high-performance racing engines, a design detail that soon became synonymous with the brand’s motorsport pedigree.
The 849 Testarossa features a completely redesigned exterior, drawing inspiration from 1970s sports prototype racers and the legendary Ferrari 512 S. Up front, the car adopts a full-width lighting graphic, similar in style to the designs seen on the Ferrari F80 and the Ferrari 12Cilindri. The profile is accentuated by large alloy wheels, blacked-out roof line and A-pillars, and air intakes carved into the bodywork behind the doors.

At the rear, the 849 Testarossa introduces a distinctive twin-tail architecture with two separate wing sections that generate around 10 percent of the car’s real downforce, replacing the conventional layout seen on the Ferrari SF90 Stradale. Other notable visual details seen at the rear of 849 Testarossa include a high-set dual-exhaust setup, slim LED taillamps, and a chunky diffuser.
Inside, the Ferrari 849 Testarossa adopts a strongly driver-focused layout. The cabin features a high centre console, a ‘bridge’ that separates the two sports seats, and notably no infotainment touchscreen on the main dashboard. A large 16-inch digital instrument display provides the driver with all key information, while a slim 9-inch screen is reserved for the passenger. Ferrari has also equipped the three-spoke, flat-bottomed steering wheel with numerous physical controls for quick access to key functions.

Despite the added performance and new components — which would typically increase weight by more than 20 kg — Ferrari has managed to keep the dry weight unchanged at 1,570 kg, the same as the Ferrari SF90 Stradale. This was achieved through extensive weight-saving measures, including road springs that are 35 percent lighter and advanced machining techniques derived from racing engines.

Powering the Ferrari 849 Testarossa is the same plug-in hybrid powertrain as the SF90 Stradale featuring a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with a triple electric motor setup — two on the front axle, and one sandwiched between the engine and the gearbox at the back. However, the engine has been heavily upgraded to produce 830 bhp, marking a substantial 50 bhp bump in output over its predecessor. The total combined output stands at 1050 bhp.

Transmission duties are carried out by an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels. As for performance, the Ferrari 849 Testarossa can clock a top speed of 330 kmph and can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.3 seconds. Ferrari claims that the Testarossa’s 7.45kWh battery can deliver an all-electric range of 16-25 km.
