Ferrari has revealed the Amalfi Spider, a convertible 2+2 GT powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine.
Ferrari has unveiled the Amalfi Spider, a convertible version of its new 2+2 grand tourer. Apart from the retractable roof, the Spider remains mechanically identical to the Amalfi coupe and delivers nearly identical performance figures.
Powering the Amalfi Spider is a 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 630 bhp and 760 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. Ferrari claims the car can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 320 kmph, matching the performance of the coupe.
Despite weighing 1,556 kg, which is 86 kg heavier than the coupe, the Amalfi Spider maintains similar performance. Its 0-200 kmph time is rated at 9.4 seconds, around 0.4 seconds slower than the coupe.
The Spider also retains the coupe’s brake-by-wire system designed for improved braking precision. An active rear spoiler generates up to 110 kg of additional downforce at 250 kmph while increasing drag by less than four percent.
Visually, the Amalfi Spider features a fabric soft top that can be finished in four colour options. The roof can be opened in 13.5 seconds at speeds of up to 60 kmph. When folded, it measures just 220mm thick, allowing the car to offer 172 litres of luggage space. With the roof closed, boot capacity increases to 255 litres.
Ferrari has also fitted wind deflectors behind the rear seats to reduce cabin turbulence when driving with the roof down. The five-layer fabric roof is said to provide noise insulation comparable to Ferrari’s hard-top models. Apart from the roof, the Spider closely resembles the coupe, though Ferrari offers an exclusive Rosso Tramonto paint finish for the convertible.
Inside, the Amalfi Spider retains the coupe’s 2+2 seating layout. The dashboard features curved air vents, a 10.25-inch central touchscreen and an 8.8-inch passenger display. Other highlights include a 15.6-inch digital driver’s display, a three-spoke steering wheel with physical controls and an aluminium-milled centre tunnel.
The convertible GT also comes equipped with features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, advanced driver assistance systems, connected car technology, adaptive cruise control, powered seats, automatic climate control and a wireless charging pad. Ferrari also offers extensive personalisation options for the interior.
