Tesla has officially established its first fast charging station in Gurugram, Haryana. This follows the launch of its new experience centre in the city just a few weeks ago. Installed at DLF Horizon Center on Golf Course Road, Tesla’s new Supercharger boosts the American EV maker’s charging infrastructure in India.

The Supercharging site, located in the Surface Parking Area at Horizon Center, is equipped with four V4 Superchargers with a peak charging speed of 250 kW. In addition, this station also has three 11kW Destination Chargers, offering pricing flexibility for Tesla owners.

This takes the tally of Tesla Superchargers in India to twelve, and Destination Chargers to ten, across three locations — New Delhi, Mumbai, and Gurugram. Tesla has invited residents of Gurugram to experience its technology firsthand, and will host interactive workshops at the site from December 17 to 21.

Using a Tesla Supercharger, the Model Y can gain up to 275 km of range in 15 minutes — which the company says is sufficient for a drive from Gurugram to Jaipur’s Hawa Mahal. The seamless “Plug In, Charge and Go” experience is backed by a claimed 99.95 percent uptime.

Tesla Model Y Powertrain Specs

Tesla launched the Model Y in India earlier in July this year at a starting price of ₹59.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The battery-powered crossover is offered in two trims – Standard RWD and Long Range RWD. The former comes with a 64kWh battery that offers a 500km WLTP range whereas the latter features an 84.2kWh battery that promises a range of 661 km on a single charge. As for performance, the Long Range RWD trim of Model Y, powered by a rear-axle-mounted electric motor, can do a 0 to 100 kmph sprint in 5.6 seconds.
