The 5-door Gurkha will look relatively the same as the three-door Gurkha, albeit with subtle differences.
The current-gen Force Gurkha is set to gain a new 5-door variant and a teaser image of the same has been shared by its manufacturer. Based on the current-gen Gurkha, the upcoming 5-door variant of the SUV will retain the boxy proportions of its 3-door brethren, with the most noticeable change being its extended wheelbase.
Test mule of the SUV has been spotted several times before, and those early glimpses have also confirmed the same. These mules also indicated that the front fascia will be slightly revised. For instance, the headlamps were squared instead of round units, and the grille design also appeared different with a more prominent horizontal three-grille design.

We expect the upcoming 5-door Gurkha to be powered by the same 2.6-litre inline-4 engine, producing 91 bhp and 250 Nm in the current-gen 3-door Gurkha. However, sources have also revealed to us that Force might equip a bigger engine that produces slightly more power at around 111 bhp with the 5-door Gurkha. Aside from that, both 4x4 and rear-wheel drivetrain options are also expected to feature in the upcoming SUV.
The Gurkha 5-door will directly rival the Mahindra Thar 5-door, slated for launch later this year. And as far as rugged SUVs are concerned, the smaller Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door will also feature, however, the Gurkha 5-door will most likely be priced above the Jimny.
