JSW MG Motor has seen Gaurav Gupta stepping away from his role as Chief Growth Officer as he is going to take up the role of President of Domestic Business at TVS Motor Company. Gupta served his final day at the car firm on January 31 and is expected to join the ranks at Hosur soon. We have reached out to MG for a comment on the matter.
Gupta was one of the main forces behind the premium ‘MG Select’ division of the British car brand. He has been with the firm since 2018, overseeing the launch of products like the Hector, Comet and Windsor, some of whom have picked up quite a few TOTMs in recent times. The MG Windsor EV was awarded the TOTM for the MPV of the Year and you can read more about it here.
As Gupta start's his new role soon, TVS Director & CEO, K N Radhakrishnan, shared his thoughts on the appointment: "Gaurav has rich experience and expertise that will add significant value to the company. The company has been on a steady growth trajectory, delivering results well ahead of the industry. We are confident that under his leadership, we will further strengthen our market position and continue to set benchmarks. We wish him the very best and welcome him to the TVSM family."
He will now oversee the India operations at TVS, which promises to have exciting times ahead. From the launch of its first adventure motorcycle to a lot of product refreshes, 2025 is touted to be an important year for the Bengaluru-based brand. Furthermore, Gupta’s understanding of EVs will also come in handy as TVS aims to expand its electric portfolio, and maybe take the top spot in the Indian electric two-wheeler space.
