Instamart Partners With Yulu, Yuma Energy to Strengthen EV Ecosystem

Instamart has partnered with Yulu and Yuma Energy to strengthen its electric vehicle ecosystem for last-mile deliveries in India. The initiative focuses on improving access to affordable electric two-wheelers while reducing charging-related downtime for delivery partners. As part of the partnership with Yuma Energy, Instamart is providing space at its PODs, or dark stores, to set up battery-swapping stations. Bringing these facilities closer to delivery hubs is expected to make battery swaps faster and more convenient for riders.

Yuma Energy currently operates more than 2,000 battery-swapping units, with each swap taking under two minutes. Instamart says delivery partners cover an average of over 90 km per day and may require two battery swaps. Having swapping stations closer to PODs could save riders up to 60 minutes of travel and waiting time per day. The first battery-swapping station under the initiative was inaugurated earlier this month at an Instamart POD.

Instamart is also working with Yulu to make electric two-wheelers more affordable for its delivery fleet. Delivery partners using Yulu EVs on the Instamart platform are eligible for rental cashback incentives. Introduced in May 2026, the programme has incentivised thousands of delivery partners and reduced rental expenses for participating riders by up to 30 per cent, according to the company. Instamart, along with Swiggy, currently works with more than 50 EV partners across India. The partnerships with Yulu and Yuma Energy further expand this ecosystem by combining affordable EV access with convenient battery-swapping infrastructure to support the adoption of electric vehicles for last-mile deliveries.
