Google officially reveals Pixel 8 & Pixel 8 Pro design ahead of launch

Google has provided a sneak peek at its upcoming flagship smartphones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, ahead of their official launch on October 4. The company updated its Google Store site with details on the new devices, with the tagline "Coming in hot. Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro." The page included a short video showcasing the Pixel 8 Pro in a new Porcelain colour option and the Pixel 8 in a blush shade, with redesigned camera modules on the back.

According to the site, the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro will feature "the most advanced Pixel cameras yet," along with Google's AI capabilities to enhance features like Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Live Translate. Users can sign up on the site for launch updates and additional details on the new phones.

Separately, Google also provided a first look at the Pixel Watch 2 smartwatch, set to debut alongside the new Pixel phones next month. The company teased that the watch will have "even more personalized help, safety features, and health insights."

While brief, the teasers confirm earlier leaks about the design and features of the Pixel 8 series. The phones are expected to look largely similar to the Pixel 7 line, with camera and software upgrades.

We'll know more about the new Pixel phones during the launch event on October 4. Following the official launch, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are expected to go on pre-orders from October 5 in India and elsewhere.
