The full specs of the Google Pixel 8 & 8 Pro cameras have also been revealed.
Google is living up to its leaky reputation again this year as the Pixel 8 just about a week before its launch has been leaked again. This comes as Google had put out a promo video for the phone revealing all angles of the device as well as its launch date of 4 October. The phone will even go on pre-order in India on 5 October.
But a new video reveals the core camera features of the Pixel line this year which are getting quite the boost. There are new video-focused features like pro controls for the Pixel 8 Pro, real tone, night sight, astrophotography, super res zoom and the ability to swap faces in an image which could be via the magic editor.
There is a new video boost and night sight for low-light videos feature as well as audio eraser which will likely act like noise cancellation that removes ambient background sounds and a feature to enhance skin tones.

The full specs of the cameras have also been revealed. For instance, both phones are getting a 50-megapixel primary camera that has a 1/1.31" sensor coupled with an f/1.68 aperture, specs that are close to the standard iPhone 15. On the standard Pixel 8, it will also enable up to 8x of Super Res Zoom.
The Pixel 8 gets a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 125.8-degree field of view with lens correction. The Pixel 8 Pro gets a bigger and higher-resolution 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f/1.95 aperture and 125.5-degree field of view with lens correction.
The Pixel 8 Pro also gets a telephoto lens for optical zoom. It has a 48-megapixel camera with an f/2.8 aperture matching the aperture size of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It also does 5x optical zoom and up to 30x super res zoom.
Both phones also get 10.5-megapixel selfie cameras with large 1.22um pixels and an f/2.2 aperture and 95-degree field of view. The only difference between the standard and Pro model is that one gets a fixed focus lens and the other supports auto focus.
This phone is expected to be powered by the 3rd generation Tensor G3 chipset which likely also incorporates a lot of Samsung IP. The Pro model will also come with up to 12GB RAM. Google is refining the design language with more rounded edges on both phones. The displays are also getting 120Hz across the board but the Pro could be supporting a dynamic refresh rate between 1-120Hz.
