GT Force has launched its first electric motorcycle in India priced at ₹1.19 lakh, ex-showroom. This is the brand’s fifth new product after its range of low-speed and high-speed electric scooters that it launched earlier. And just like the electric scooter, the GT Texa electric motorcycle has also been designed and engineered for urban riders.
So, as part of that requirement, the GT Texa is powered by a 3.5 kWh battery that is good for 120-130 km of range. GT Force did not specify if this is its real real-world range or IDC range. Either way, it is available with a micro charger, which the company claims, can help charge the battery in 4-5 hours. The charger capacity has again not been mentioned by the company.
The battery comes paired with a BLDC hub motor which helps the GT Texa reach a top speed of 80 kmph, which is the ideal top speed to navigate the urban jungle. The GT Texa has a load capacity of 180 kg and a gradability of 18 degrees, so if you plan to buy this scooter from the plains and take it to the mountains, you might find it a bit challenging to run.
However, the electric motorcycle has a light kerb weight of 120 kg and rides quite high with 145 mm of ground clearance, and yet the seat height is easily accessible at 770 mm, The GT Texa rides on 18-/17-inch alloy wheels, with telescopic fork for the front and simple dual-shock absorber for the rear. Disc brakes are available with both wheels, with E-ABS (not ABS) assistance to avoid wheel locking in case of hard braking.
As for its features, GT Force has equipped the bike with a very small fully digital LED display that will provide you with all the key information like speed, range, etc. There is no Bluetooth connectivity available with this unit though.
For its range and price, the GT Texa will compete in a segment which includes the likes of Oben Rorr and Revolt RV400. How does the new GT Texa compare with the likes of the other two, stay tuned to this space to find out.
