The new Hero Destini 125 will be available in three variants – VX, ZX, and ZX+.
After debuting the second generation Destini 125 last year in September 2024, Hero has now officially launched the scooter starting at ₹80,450. It will be available in three variants – VX, ZX, and ZX+ – wherein the last two variants will be priced at ₹89,300 and ₹90,300 (ex-showroom), respectively.
The updated Destini 125 also marks the first major redesign of the scooter since its initial launch in 2018. It boasts a very upmarket design that is characterised by H-shaped LED DRLs, and some gorgeous body panels finished in metallic and chrome. The scooter is available in seven colours across variants, including Eternal White, Regal Black, Groovy Red, and Mystique Magenta.
The Hero Destini 125 has also become more practical than ever. This is partly because it is now built on a different platform which helps its case with an extended wheelbase of 1,302 mm, and Hero claims it boasts the segment's longest seat at 785 mm. There is 19 litres of underseat storage space too, which is practical but not enough when you compare it with its immediate competitor, the TVS Jupiter 125, which gets 33 litres of underseat storage space.
Hero has also made significant developments when it comes to the Destini 125’s feature list. While the higher-end variants (ZX and ZX+) come equipped with front disc brake, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and auto-cancelling indicators. The base variant includes a projector LED headlamp, a USB charging port, and a unique parking brake lock feature.
However, mechanically, the Hero Destini 125 does not see any change. It continues to be powered by the same 124.6cc air-cooled engine as before, producing 9 bhp and 10.4 Nm, with a claimed fuel efficiency of 59 kmpl.
The Hero Destini 125 competes in a segment which also includes alternatives like the Honda Activa 125, TVS Jupiter 125, and Suzuki Access 125. Honda updated the Activa 125 earlier this year introducing new features and making the engine compatible with the latest emission norms. Suzuki is also slated to launch the updated Access 125 this year, with a probable showcase at the upcoming 2025 Auto Expo. The TVS Jupiter 125, on the other hand, continues unchanged much, after all, it already packed all the credentials that these scooters are now packing in, to come up on par with it.
