In a surprising twist to commuter motorcycle evolution, Hero MotoCorp is testing what appears to be the next-generation Hero Glamour 125, and it could become the first budget bike in India to feature cruise control—a feature usually reserved for premium bikes.
The test unit, wrapped in basic camouflage, was recently spotted on public roads, sparking speculation about Hero’s new direction for one of its bestselling commuter models. If confirmed, the inclusion of cruise control on the Glamour 125 could be a landmark move, pushing the boundaries of what buyers expect from budget bikes.
Until now, cruise control has been limited to larger, more expensive motorcycles—often priced well above ₹2 lakh. Even Hero’s own flagship, the Mavrick 440, lacks this feature. Its possible debut on the Glamour 125, a sub-₹1 lakh commuter, marks a significant shift in strategy—prioritising rider convenience and tech-led value in the mass-market space.
While Hero hasn’t officially confirmed the model's identity, several design elements—including the fuel tank shape and side profile—closely match the current Glamour 125.
Despite its commuter underpinnings, the test mule boasts a host of upgrades, including:
While the frame and ergonomics appear unchanged, the subtle tech upgrades suggest Hero is aiming to make the upcoming Glamour 125 more attractive to urban and semi-urban riders who are looking for a daily-use motorcycle with added convenience and flair.
