Hero’s most powerful motorcycle as of yet will compete against the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, and Jawa 350.
After its debut in February 2024, deliveries for the all-new Hero Mavrick 440 will commence from next week, i.e. April 15, onwards. Bookings for the bike had already commenced at ₹5,000. Customers who had booked the bike before the delivery date are also privy to additional accessories worth ₹10,000.
The Hero Mavrick 440 shares the same platform and engine as the Harley-Davidson X440. And just like its American counterpart, the former is also available in three trim levels. Prices start from ₹1.99 lakh for the base trim which sees the Mavrick 440 fitted with spoke wheels, followed by the mid-trim Mavrick 440 with alloy wheels is priced at ₹2.14 lakh. Lastly, the top trim which is available with diamond-cut alloy wheels will set you back by ₹2.24 lakh.

Mechanically, the Hero Mavrick 440 might be powered by the same 440 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, but it gets a slightly different tune. It produces 27 bhp and 36 Nm (instead of 38 Nm it produces in H-D X440), and Hero says that 90 per cent of the torque is produced at 2000 Nm, thereby giving the Mavrick 440 a paunchy low and mid-range.

Other key differences between the Harley-Davidson X440 and the Mavrick 440, aside from their body design, lie in their hardware components. The latter equips telescopic fork and dual-shock absorbers, instead of USD fork and monoshock suspension as is the case with the Harley.
The Hero Mavrick 440 will go up against the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa 350, the Triumph Speed 400, and the Harley-Davidson X440.
