The Mavrick 440 is the most expensive and powerful motorcycle ever built by Hero yet.
After officially taking the wraps off its flagship motorcycle at the Hero World 2024 event, Hero has officially launched the Mavrick 440. Despite sharing the same roots as the Harley-Davidson X440, the Mavrick introduces a distinctive style and feature set, marking a significant departure from its counterpart. Not to mention a more cost effective alternative too.
The Hero Mavrick 440 has been launched with an introductory price of Rs 1.99 lakh for the base-spec variant. The mid and top trims cost Rs 2.14 lakh, and Rs 2.24 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Mavrick 440 is propelled by the same 440 cc engine co-developed with Harley-Davidson for the X440. And although the engine is the same, in the Mavrick 440 it gets a distinct tune. This ari/oil-cooled, 4-valve, DOHC, single-cylinder powerhouse delivers 27 bhp and 36 Nm (the X440 produces 38 Nm). The change in torque should reflect in the engine’s rideability.
While sharing the tubular steel perimeter frame with the X440, the Mavrick distinguishes itself with a telescopic fork and dual-shock absorber setup. Disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard remains the same. Moreover, just like the three variants of the H-D X440, the Hero Mavrick 440 also gets three trim levels with the base-spec variant riding on spoke wheels, followed by the mid-spec variant sporting alloy wheels. While the top-spec Mavrick 440 gets the benefit of diamond-cut alloy wheels.
In a departure from the X440's retro styling, the Mavrick embraces a sports cruiser body. The single-piece seat, dual-tone color scheme, and muscular, curved fuel tank exude a premium feel. The tapered and raised rear, along with a distinct DRL design, reinforces the Mavrick's sporty character, thus distinguishing itself from the Harley-Davidson, uniquely and with more authority.
Being the brand’s first middleweight motorcycle, the Hero Mavrick 440 doesn’t skimp on features. From all-LED headlight and tail light to Hero Motocorp has also introduced a new instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. In fact, the Mavrick becomes the first model to debut this new console. The backlit fully digital LCD cluster integrates speedometer, odometer, and trip meter in a round section, while a side display handles turn-by-turn navigation, music, and call management. All controls are housed in a flat, tubular-style handlebar. In addition to this, the Mavrick 440 is also available with eSUM-based connectivity that gives it access to more than 35 functions like real-time information, remote tracking and more.
With the announcement of the price, bookings for the Hero Mavrick 400 have also commenced, and deliveries for the same will start from April onwards. Moreover, Hero Motocorp has also launched a “Welcome to Mavrick Club Offer” which will be available to customers who book the new motorcycle by March 15. These first customers of the Mavrick 440 will also stand to win a customised Mavrick kit accessories and merchandises worth ₹10,000.
