A new trademark image of the Hero Mavrick 440 in a scrambler avatar has surfaced online, suggesting a unique direction the company has planned for audiences in 2025. Hero has already teased us with the bigger XPulse 421 and showcased the Mavrick 440 with a USD fork at EICMA 2024. And now with the new iteration, it will be the first scrambler bike from the brand and things couldn’t get more exciting than this.
Mechanically, the new Mavrick 440 Scrambler will be identical to the Mavrick 440. Powered by the same easy-going 440 cc, air/oil-cooled engine. We’ve really enjoyed this mill’s low and mid-range performance that is capable of good mile munching. We expect Hero to retain the same 27 bhp/ 36 Nm output with some changes to its final drive to suit the bike’s rough-road credentials.
On the design front, the Mavrick 440 Scrambler looks more or less the same as the standard bike. There are a few tweaks here and there. For starters, a new small windscreen and a handlebar brace have been added. Funnily, it is seen sporting a telescopic fork and dual-shock absorber setup as the Mavrick 440 and not a USD fork like the one shown in Milan. Whatever be the case, we hope the suspension travel might be increased to make the bike suited for some rough-roading.
We are yet to ascertain a launch timeline for this new bike. But going by previous instances, Hero might launch the Mavrick 440 Scrambler sometime in the middle of 2025, or late-2025. This will be an interesting addition to a segment, which is currently populated by the likes of the Yezdi Scrambler, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X, and the yet-to-launch Royal Enfield Scram 440.
