Harshvardhan Chitale will take over its new responsibilities from Vikram Kasbekar, who was serving as the Acting Chief Executive Officer.
Hero MotoCorp's board has selected Harshavardhan Chitale as CEO starting January 5, 2026. The decision emerged from a board meeting this past Sunday, and the two-wheeler giant announced it through stock exchange filings.
Chitale steps into the top role currently held by Acting CEO Vikram Kasbekar. Rather than departing, Kasbekar will transition to a dual role as both Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer, maintaining his board membership.
With more than three decades in global leadership, Chitale arrives from Signify, where he headed the Professional Business division as Global CEO. This division generated revenues of approximately ₹33,000 crores annually and employed 12,000 staff across 70 nations. His responsibilities encompassed manufacturing oversight, supply chain management, product innovation, and digitisation efforts.
Previously, Chitale served as Vice Chairman and Managing Director at Philips Lighting India, guiding the firm's evolution into an independent public company. His career portfolio includes executive positions at both HCL Infosystems and Honeywell Automation India.
