India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer is being investigated by the Ministry over violating corporate governance and fund diversions.
Despite creating the right noise at the 2025 Auto Expo by showcasing four brand new products, India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer still finds itself in murky waters. Hero MotoCorp has been under investigation by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) over alleged fund diversions and violating corporate governance. While a few reports claimed that the country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer was cleared off of any such wrongdoings. The MCA clarified today that Hero MotoCorp is still under probe, and they are still examining reports regarding the same.
The MCA’s investigation stemmed from a March 2022 tax raid which was conducted as part of broader tax evasion enquiry. A bunch of premises were raided out of which a few of them were linked to Hero MotoCorp. From these raids, tax authorities found out that the two-wheeler manufacturer’s had reported fake expenditure with a vendor to the tune of ₹10.87 million. Due to this expenditure, Hero received a tax credit, which aided the marque to evade taxes worth up to ₹160 million.

In spite of this ongoing investigation, Hero MotoCorp’s aggressive product onslaught has not slowed down a bit. Deliveries for the new Xoom 160 and Xoom 125R are scheduled to start soon, which will be followed by the Xtreme 250R and XPulse 210. Down the line the Karizma XMR 250R is in the cards as well slated for launch, followed by the XPulse 421. So stay tuned to this page, more details will follow soon.
