The recently launched Xtreme 200S 4V has replaced the 2V version.

AckoDrive has confirmed from Hero MotoCorp that the two-valve version of the Xtreme 200S has been discontinued, following the launch of the four-valve version earlier this month. The Hero Xtreme 200S 4V was launched in the Indian market with new paint schemes and a few mechanical updates. Initially, the 2V version was visible on the website along with the 4V version but has now been removed altogether.

Hero has equipped the Xtreme 200S 4V with raised clip-on handlebars, petal disc brakes at both ends and added an oil cooler for smoother performance. Speaking of which, the 199.6cc, single-cylinder engine produces 18.9 bhp and 17.35 Nm of peak torque, which is marginally more than the 2V version. It still employs a five-speed gearbox and those familiar with the Hero lineup in India will notice that this engine has been borrowed from the Hero XPulse.

The Xtreme 200S 4V also gets three new dual-shape paint jobs - Panther Black Metallic, Matt Axis Gray Metallic and Moon Yellow. Apart from the slight increase in power, the 4V version is also said to be slightly more fuel-efficient. It’s priced at Rs 1.41 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which makes it roughly Rs 6,000 more expensive than the 2V version.

There’s also quite a buzz around the launch of the brand-new Karizma XMR 210, which is likely to come with a 210cc, liquid-cooled motor mated to a six-speed gearbox. It should sit above the Xtreme 200 4V and is sure to bring back some fond memories from Karizma fans of yore.
