This makes the homegrown two-wheeler major the first auto company to be integrated into the digital e-commerce platform.
Hero MotoCorp has officially announced its integration into the Open Network for Digital Commerce platform, making it the first auto company in India to do so. The latest collaboration from the homegrown two-wheeler major has been to enhance its customers' shopping experience. So, whether it is about finding the correct merchandise or even spare parts, accessories, and various buyer applications — all of this will be available under one platform network.
“Joining the ONDC network allows us to pioneer an automotive taxonomy that simplifies the search for vehicle parts and accessories,” said Niranja Gupta, CEO of Hero MotoCorp.

The partnership with ONDC will also help make Hero’s retail operation more efficient and it will also facilitate its hyperlocal networks further. This is where Hero's strong distribution network across India will come into play. By doing so, Hero’s channel partners are slated to benefit from a fair and efficient buying environment, claims the company.
“This move is (also) in line with our efforts to support the Government’s Digital India mission and our ongoing pursuit of innovation,” Gupta further added.

"Hero MotoCorp's integration with ONDC is a testament to our vision of driving digital transformation in India, creating a more equitable and efficient ecosystem for businesses of all sizes. We believe this will encourage other brands to embark on a similar digital journey," Koshy remarked,” added T Koshy, MD & CEO of ONDC in the press release.
This announcement comes fresh from Hero’s consecutive successful month of sales. The Indian two-wheeler major reported a substantial 34.7 per cent year-over-year growth in April 2024. Which in turn was a further 9 per cent increase in sales over the previous month i.e. March 2024. With the ONDC network, Hero’s sales might witness further growth, especially in the scooter segment where the brand is slated to launch the new Xoom 160 and Xoom 125R.
