Hero MotoCorp hasn’t revealed any official timeline for the launch of the Vida Ubex electric motorcycle yet.
Hero MotoCorp is slowly but gradually increasing its presence in the electric two-wheeler space with its EV subsidiary brand — Vida. As of now, the Vida lineup consists of scooters only but Hero realises that in order to have a stronger hold in the electric two-wheeler market, it needs to have a diverse portfolio of models.
Hence, the company is now looking to expand by introducing electric motorcycles in the future. The company has already started developing a few. One of them is the Vida Ubex, which was first unveiled as one of four Vida concept models teased at EICMA 2025. Positioned as an urban-oriented electric motorcycle, the Ubex now appears to be edging closer to production as seen in the leaked patent image.
The patent showcases a design that is more evolved than the concept presented earlier. The design reveals an aggressive, sporty naked motorcycle featuring a projector headlamp encased within a hexagonal cluster and flanked by LED turn indicators, lending it a contemporary urban appeal. Unlike the concept version that featured an upside down front fork, the patent suggests a more cost-conscious setup with conventional telescopic forks, indicating a shift toward production-ready hardware.

The bike continues to sport alloy wheels and a muscular stance, complemented by an upright handlebar, a sculpted ‘tank’ section, and sharp side panels. Centre-set footpegs and low-set handlebar indicate a moderately aggressive riding stance. Other cosmetic details include a single-piece stepped seat, a rear tyre hugger, and split grab rails for the pillion.

On the hardware front, the bike seems to be based on a trellis frame that sits on a USD front fork and a rear shock absorber. This is a stark departure from the concept showcased earlier. The concept showcased several distinctive design cues, including a sharp front beak, a hollow section separating the seat from the lower rear subframe, frame-mounted cladding, and an exposed trellis swingarm.

Stopping power is handled by single disc brakes at both ends. The patent images reveal a motor integrated into a single unit that also accommodates the battery, with power transmitted to the rear wheel through a chain drive. In terms of features, the Vida Ubex is expected to receive a TFT instrument display that comes equipped with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.
