Hero MotoCorp has expanded its electric scooter lineup with the launch of the Vida VX2 Plus 4.4kWh in India. Priced at ₹1.44 lakh, the 3.4 kWh retails for ₹93,000 (both prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi). The new variant focuses on extending riding range while retaining the same motor and feature set as the existing VX2 Plus. The biggest update comes in the form of a 4.4kWh battery pack, made up of two removable 2.2kWh batteries. According to Hero Vida, the electric scooter delivers a claimed IDC-certified range of 187km, a significant improvement over the 146km claimed by the 3.4kWh version.

Charging speeds have also been improved. The scooter now comes with a 1kW portable charger (580W on the 3,4 kWh variant), capable of charging the battery from 0 to 80 percent in 3 hrs and 17 minutes, while a full charge takes just over five hours. Using a DC fast charger, the battery can reach 80 per cent charge in 65 minutes, with a complete charge taking around 2.5 hrs.

Hero says customers can access more than 6,000 fast-charging points across India. Mechanically, the VX2 Plus remains unchanged. It is powered by a 6kW electric motor producing 26Nm of torque, enabling a claimed top speed of 90 kmph. Riders can choose between Eco, Ride and Sport modes, while the Boost function provides extra acceleration for quick overtakes. Other highlights include a 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, and turn-by-turn navigation. The Vida VX2 competes against the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and the Ather Rizta.
