Hero launched the new Vida VX2 electric scooter a few days back and now the company has announced a further price reduction. This comes as a surprise as the pricing of the Vida VX2 was competitive to begin with. The price drop is for both the variants and also the BaaS model as well. With the new pricing, the Vida VX2 can be purchased for as low as ₹45,000, which is very affordable given the specs, features and performance the electric scooter offers.
The Vida VX2 is offered in two variants - Go and Plus. The VX2 is the base variant and comes powered with the same 6 kW motor but top speed is lower at 70 kmph compared to the 80 kmph of the VX2 Plus variant. Since the VX2 Go comes with a single removable battery, claimed range is also lower at 92 km, whereas the twin battery pack, Plus variant has a claimed IDC range of 142 km. The Vida VX2 can be charged at home with the batteries being removed, or the scooter can be charged via the portable charger and the third option is using DC fast chargers setup by the company.
Price ex-showroom, India | Introductory offer | Launch Price |
---|---|---|
Vida VX2 Go BaaS | ₹45,000 | ₹59,500 |
Vida VX2 Plus BaaS | ₹58,000 | ₹65,000 |
Vida VX2 Go | ₹85,000 | ₹99,490 |
Vida VX2 Plus | ₹1 lakh | ₹1.10 lakh |
The Vida VX2 is one of the few electric scooters to get a Battery-as-a-Service model and this has been done to reduce the cost of the scooter significantly. With BaaS, unlike the Honda Activa Electric where the customer doesn’t own the battery, you do so on the Vida VX2. So if one opts for BaaS, you pay a monthly fee and once the plan duration is complete, the rider gets full ownership of the scooter.
