Both scooters have already been officially showcased at the 2023 EICMA motorcycle show in Italy last year.
Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch two new scooters – the Xoom 125R and Xoom 160 – in the first quarter of FY2025. The two-wheeler major confirmed the same in a statement while announcing the financial results for the fourth quarter of FY2024. Both scooters have already been officially showcased at the 2023 EICMA motorcycle show in their production-spec guise, so details about the same are already out in the open.
What Is The Hero Xoom 160?

Starting with the bigger scooter, the Hero Xoom 160 is also the Indian manufacturer’s first maxi-scooter offering. However, it gets a distinct rugged appeal, which also gives it a unique adventure character – something that we have not found with any of the scooters in India, even from premium manufacturers as well. The closest scooter on these lines is the Honda X-ADV.
Other design elements that stood out with the Xoom 160 include its twin LED headlight cluster, 14-inch wheels with block pattern tyres, muscular-looking body panels, and the large windscreen to keep the wind at bay at high speeds.
Talking about speed, one of the major talking points of the Xoom 160 is its 156 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is rated at 14 bhp and 13.7 Nm at 6,500 rpm. This makes the Hero Xoom 160 among the most powerful scooters to go on sale in India. Available with Hero’s i3S silent start tech, plus keyless ignition – the Xoom 160 will be quite the premium offering from the brand.
Therefore, we expect the maxi-scooter to be priced somewhere in the range of ₹1.50-₹1.60 lakh (ex-showroom). And in this price range, it will have the Yamaha Aerox 155 as its sole competitor.

The sportier iteration of the Hero Xoom, the new Xoom 125R will feature a fresh design with more aggressive cuts and creases for that sporty appeal. Just like the Xoom 160, the Xoom 125R also features an all-LED headlight with sequential LED winkers, rides on 14-inch wheels with machined alloy design, and gets an all-digital instrument cluster, purportedly with turn-by-turn navigation.
Powering the 125R will be the same 124 cc single-cylinder engine that is also available with the Destini 125. But the Xoom 125R will feature a higher state of tune to produce 9.4 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 10.16 Nm at 6,000 rpm.
Further details about the scooters will be revealed as we near their official launch. The Hero Xoom 125R will have the likes of the TVS Ntorq 125 and the Suzuki Avenis, as its competition in the sporty scooter segment.
