Hero Xtreme 160R 4V locks horns against the likes of Bajaj Pulsar N160, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, and Honda Hornet 2.0.
Hero MotoCorp has launched a new top-spec variant of the Xtreme 160R 4V which comes with some additional features and a new colour scheme. Previously speculated to be the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Combat Edition, this new top-spec variant is priced at ₹1.34 lakh (ex-showroom), making it ₹4000 dearer than the base variant.
This new top-spec Hero Xtreme 160R 4V gets a new Mat Shadow Grey colour scheme with neon graphics. It also gets a sharper LED headlight. Previously, the Xtreme 160R 4V featured reflector-based LED lighting, but it has now been upgraded to the Xtreme 250R’s LED projector setup. This new unit also integrates the signature ‘H’-shaped DRL, bringing the bike in line with Hero’s latest design language.

Besides an updated LED headlamp cluster and a new colour scheme, this new top-spec variant of Xtreme 160R 4V also gets a new ride-by-wire throttle that enables two new features — cruise control and three riding modes: Rain, Road, and Sport. Besides these changes, the Xtreme 160R 4V is now equipped with the same colour LCD instrument console found on the Hero Glamour X 125 and the Xtreme 125R that provides key information including speed, fuel level, time, gear position, a tachometer, an odometer, and dual tripmeters.
Mechanically, the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Combat Edition remains unchanged. It continues to use a 163.2cc, air- and oil-cooled, 4-valve engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox delivering 16.4 bhp and 14.6 Nm of peak torque. Hero claims the Xtreme 160R 4V can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in 4.5 seconds. On the hardware front, the motorcycle is equipped with a KYB upside-down front fork, a rear monoshock, and disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS for improved safety.
