HMD is comprehensively restructuring its supply chain to establish India as a key export and manufacturing hub.
In a strategic move to shift its the global smartphone manufacturing landscape, Finnish handset maker HMD Global is repositioning its production ecosystem by moving a substantial portion of its manufacturing operations from China to India, says a report by DigiTimes.

The Finnish company is comprehensively restructuring its supply chain to establish India as a key export and manufacturing hub. This move comes in direct response to the increasingly complex geopolitical trade environment and tensions between the United States and China.
Ravi Kunwar, HMD's Chief Executive Officer and Vice President for India and Asia Pacific, emphasised the comprehensive nature of this strategic realignment, as quoted by MoneyControl.
"We are systematically relocating our core operational infrastructure from China," Kunwar explained.
HMD is not just relocating existing operations but is actively encouraging its international supplier network to establish a robust presence in India, the report added.
