Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has announced a voluntary market recall campaign for the CB1000 Hornet SP and CBR650R premium motorcycles in the country. The India recall is part of a global market action, the company said, but did not specify the number of units affected. The recalled Honda CBR650R were manufactured between December 16, 2024, and May 4, 2025. Meanwhile, the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP affected were manufactured between September 30, 2024, and August 22, 2025.
With the CB1000 Hornet SP, Honda says it observed oil consumption may vary due to certain part-related conditions. The company further pointed out that changes in oil pressure may affect normal operation, if not checked regularly.
On the other hand, the CBR650R may have a wiring part in the turn signal system rub against a metal component, and vibrations over time could cause a short circuit. This could lead to some light not functioning, which does not meet the regulatory requirements.
Honda has advised customers to check if their motorcycle falls within the manufacturing period as a precautionary step. If it does, users will need to get in touch with the nearest BigWing Top dealership for a vehicle inspection. Should there be an issue, Honda will replace the affected parts free of charge, irrespective of the vehicle’s warranty status. Customers can also check if their vehicle falls under the recall campaign by submitting the unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on Honda’s website.
