The new motorcycle can run on E85 fuel.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) launched the new CB300F flex-fuel in our country at ₹1.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). We currently have many flex-fuel bikes on sale and most of them are E20, however, what sets the CB300F flex-fuel apart is that the engine can run on E85 fuel which means 85 per cent ethanol and 15 per cent petrol. The blending of ethanol in petrol also reduces crude oil import costs which is helpful for our economy. The CB300F is powered by a 293 cc, single-cylinder engine churning out 24.5 bhp and 25.9 Nm. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed unit with slipper clutch and it also gets a traction control system.

The CB300F flex-fuel also has an ethanol indicator which glows to let the rider know whether the fuel used is E85 or above. On the styling front, nothing much has changed, and the CB300F continues to be a sporty-looking streetfighter with sharp lines. The only difference is the ethanol graphic on the fuel tank. Underpinnings have been carried forward as well which includes USD fork, monoshock suspension and dual-channel ABS.
Speaking about the new product, Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said, “At Honda, we aim to achieve carbon neutrality for all our products and corporate activities by 2050. As part of our commitment to sustainable product innovation, today we introduced the new flex-fuel version of the CB300F, marking a significant milestone in our journey towards reducing emissions and addressing India’s energy needs. With more than a decade’s expertise in flex-fuel technology globally, Honda has specially developed this motorcycle keeping the Indian customers in mind to make a seamless flex-fuel transition for the Indian two-wheeler market. The launch of the new CB300F flex-fuel reinforces our commitment to support the Government of India’s Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) program and to contribute towards a cleaner, greener future.”
The CB300F hasn’t been a sales success for the Japanese brand and it would be banking on the new update to help revive sales. Flex-fuels not only reduces the financial burden on our country but also helps in reducing emissions. In fact, many two-wheeler brands are expected to showcase their flex-fuel two-wheelers at the upcoming 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in Delhi.
