Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Sells 7.06 Lakh Units in September 2026, 34.40 Lakh in H1 FY27

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has announced its sales figures for September 2026, and for the financial year-to-date. The total for last month was 7,06,266 units, of which 6,36,768 units were sold within India and another 69,498 were exported. This marks a 24 percent YoY increase compared to the 5,68,164 units sold in September last year.

In the first half of FY 2026-27, the company has sold 34,40,072 units, with 30,44,072 domestic sales and 3,96,000 exports. The total figure is 15 percent higher than that of the same period last year, but interestingly, exports have shot up by 27 percent YoY.

The comparisons to 2025 figures are being made considering potentially suppressed demand due to the prospect of lower prices with GST price cuts. While lower base figures last year could make this year’s increases look better, the subsequently announced price cuts led to a significant sales spike during and after the festive period, which will affect October month comparisons.

The company has not released a breakup of sales by product type or segment. In July this year, it announced plans to expand production capacity in India to around 80 lakh units per annum by 2028, solidifying the country as a manufacturing and export hub. Later the same month, a massive launch event saw 10 new and refreshed models introduced, which could give the company a sales bump as each one comes to market.
