The ZR-V will launch in India alongside the highly-anticipated 2026 Honda City facelift.

Honda Car India is gearing up to add a brand new model to its portfolio on May 22 with the launch of the ZR-V Hybrid. Here’s everything you need to know about this upcoming SUV.

Pricing and Market Position

Globally, the ZR-V is positioned below the CR-V. But, because it is coming to India via the CBU route, we expect it to be anything but affordable. With an estimated ex-showroom price of between ₹50-60 lakh, the ZR-V will be more of a brand builder for Honda, which has lost some of its premium appeal of late.

Hybrid Only

Honda has officially teased only the ZR-V e:HEV in India, which points towards the fact that the standard petrol-powered model won’t be making it to our shores. The hybrid model is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 177 bhp and 240 Nm of torque, paired with an e-CVT gearbox.

Exterior Styling and Presence

In terms of road presence, the ZR-V adopts the proportions of a sophisticated, premium crossover rather than a traditional, boxy SUV. The exterior design language features sleek LED headlamps flanking an upright octagonal grille that uses a combination of vertical and horizontal slats.

Sharp functional air vents are integrated into the sides of the front bumper, while rugged black cladding runs all along the lower sections and wheel arches to retain some utility appeal. The rear profile is rounded off with distinctive LED tail-lights, a dual-tone bumper, and chrome-finished twin exhaust exits.

Interior Comfort and Features

The cabin is expected to follow a premium dual-tone theme with a clean, uncluttered dashboard layout. A free-standing touchscreen infotainment setup dominates the dashboard, complemented by a fully digital instrument cluster for the driver.

Creature comforts on the global-spec model include smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a powered driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, a wireless charging pad, a sunroof, and a powered tailgate.

Even so, the Honda ZR-V’s pricing will be decisive for its prospects in India. Buyers here favour large, boxy SUVs, and it is still unclear how they will respond to the ZR-V’s understated presence in the premium SUV space.
