Hyundai Motor India Ltd has announced that users of the myHyundai app can now access over 30,000 charging points across India, thanks to its partnerships with multiple charging network operators. These chargers are available to owners of all EVs, irrespective of brand.
The news comes ahead of Hyundai’s planned mass-market electric SUV launch, helping reassure potential buyers who might feel range anxiety.
The company says this is now one of India’s largest charging point ecosystems, with charging facilities now available at roughly 25km intervals throughout the country. The myHyundai app allows owners of any EV to find, get directions to, book a charging point in advance, and make digital payments.
Hyundai Motor India itself operates 183 DC fast chargers across 105 cities in India, ranging from 60 kW to 240 kW. The company plans to strengthen this to over 600 points by 2030, including ones positioned strategically on highways. Hyundai will also set up chargers at its own dealership locations to expand its charging network footprint, and says it has chosen locations close to rest stops and cafes, where drivers can take a break while their cars charge.
Over 3,00,000 EV drivers have used Hyundai’s own charging points through the myHyundai app since January 2023. The company says it has delivered over 50,00,000 kW of power to EVs in total, and has helped prevent around 35,00,000 kg of CO₂ emissions.
In a press statement, Tarun Garg, MD and CEO, Hyundai Motor India, said “With charging infrastructure being a key catalyst for EV adoption in India, HMIL is committed to creating an ecosystem that makes electric mobility practical, convenient and accessible to all."
