Hyundai India recently revealed the Creta Electric, which is expected to launch in India at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. However, not a lot of details about the SUV have been disclosed as of now but its battery packs, range, charging capacity and a few features have already been revealed. We compare what we know so far about the Creta Electric with one of its closest rivals, the Tata Curvv.ev.

Hyundai Creta Electric vs Tata Curvv.ev: Battery & Range

Both the Creta Electric and Curvv.ev come with a choice of two battery packs. Hyundai is offering a 42 kWh battery pack with the medium-range Creta Electric, while Tata Motors is offering a 45 kWh battery pack with the long-range Curvv.ev 45. The long-range versions of the Creta Electric and Curvv.ev get a 51.4 kWh and 55 kWh battery pack, respectively.

The Creta Electric with the smaller battery pack has a claimed range of up to 390 km on a full charge, while the long-range version has a claimed range of up to 473 km on a full charge. On the other hand, the Curvv.ev 45 (medium-range) has a claimed range of up to 430 km and the Curvv.ev 55 (long-range) can do up to 502 km on a full charge (claimed). On paper, the Curvv.ev has a better range with both battery packs, but how that will fare in the real world will be interesting to see. We will bring a detailed comparison between the two electric SUVs for you soon.

Hyundai Creta Electric vs Tata Curvv.ev: Charging 

Hyundai claims that with a 60 kWh DC fast charger, both the battery packs (51.4 kWh and 42 kWh) of the Creta Electric can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 58 minutes. Meanwhile, Tata Motors claims that both battery packs of the Curvv.ev can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 40 minutes. However, the 55 kWh battery pack supports 70 kW DC fast charging, while the 45 kWh battery pack supports 60 kW DC fast charging.

It takes the Creta Electric’s battery packs 4 hours to charge from 10-100 per cent using an 11 kW AC charger. Tata Motors claims that with a 7.2 kW AC charger, the Curvv.ev 55’s battery pack takes 7.9 hours, while the Curvv.ev 45’s battery pack takes 6.5 hours to charge from 10-100 per cent.

Hyundai Creta Electric vs Tata Curvv.ev: Features

Hyundai hasn’t yet revealed all the features of the Creta Electric but has announced a few crucial ones that will be available. The Creta EV will come with vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality with the V2L port mounted under the rear seats. It will also come with a single-pedal driving feature, shift-by-wire tech as well a digital key. Furthermore, the Creta Electric will get a large panoramic sunroof, 17-inch aero-designed alloy wheels and active air flaps in the front bumper for better aerodynamics and cooling of internal components.

The Tata Curvv.ev not only comes with V2L but also gets vehicle-to-vehicle charging functionality. However, it doesn’t get the active air flaps like the Creta Electric. The Curvv.ev also comes with a panoramic sunroof and aero-designed alloy wheels which measure up to 18 inches in size.

The Creta Electric is expected to come with two 10.25-inch screens with one for the infotainment and the other for instrument cluster. The Curvv.ev gets a larger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10.25-inch virtual instrument cluster. The Curvv.ev does get ADAS and the Creta Electric is expected to get this safety feature too. 

Hyundai Creta Electric vs Tata Curvv.ev: Price

The Curvv.ev is priced between ₹17.49 - 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). While the prices for the Hyundai Creta Electric will be announced later this month, it is expected to be priced somewhere between ₹20 - 30 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Along with the Tata Curvv.ev, the Creta Electric will also rival the likes of the MG ZS EV (₹18.98 - 25.75 lakh) as well as the Mahindra BE 6 (starting at ₹18.90 lakh) and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
