The Creta Electric is now offered with the Battery-as-a-Service option, making it more competitive against rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
Aiming to boost sales of the Creta Electric, Hyundai Motor India Limited has officially introduced Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) on the electric SUV.
Under the newly introduced structure, the Hyundai Creta EV carries a starting price tag ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The battery rental fee starts at ₹3.9 per kilometre traveled, offering a predictable, usage-based expense model for daily fleet operators and urban commuters alike.
Beyond the cost benefits, the BaaS initiative completely eliminates long-term consumer anxieties regarding chemical degradation, residual value fluctuations, and out-of-warranty battery replacement costs, as the energy storage unit remains under the continuous asset management of the manufacturer.

Interestingly, Tata recently launched the Sierra EV with a starting price of ₹18.79 lakh (ex-showroom). A key competitor to the Creta Electric, the Sierra EV misses out on a BaaS model at launch. Conversely, the Maruti e Vitara, another primary rival to the Creta EV, features a BaaS option at an identical entry price of ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Maruti SUV also demands an identical runtime fee, charging ₹3.99 or ₹4.39 per kilometre, depending on the variant selected.
Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor India Limited, noted that this strategic intervention is designed to fast-track mass electrification by making premium eco-friendly mobility vastly accessible, financially viable, and attractive to a broader demographic of Indian passenger vehicle car buyers.
