The Hyundai Creta continued to lead the company’s sales charts with 14,860 units sold in May 2025, a marginal increase over the 14,662 units sold in May 2024. However, sales dipped month-on-month from 17,061 units in April 2025, indicating some cooling off after the initial post-facelift surge. Despite the sequential dip, Creta’s performance underscores its dominance in the compact SUV segment amid growing competition.

Hyundai’s subcompact SUV Venue recorded a sharp year-on-year drop of nearly 19%, falling to 7,520 units in May 2025 from 9,327 units in the same month last year. Compared to April 2025’s 7,953 units, the Venue also saw a month-on-month decline. Similarly, the Exter, Hyundai’s micro-SUV, slipped to 5,899 units in May 2025 versus 7,697 units in May 2024, although it managed a slight increase over April’s figure of 5,416 units. The slowdown could suggest saturation in the micro and compact SUV space or stronger competition from newer rivals.

The Grand i10 Nios and i20, Hyundai’s mass-market hatchbacks, continue to feel the heat of a market gradually leaning towards SUVs. The Grand i10 Nios dropped to 4,344 units in May 2025, down from 5,328 units a year ago, though slightly up from 4,137 units in April 2025. The i20, positioned in the premium hatchback space, saw sales fall to 4,090 units in May 2025 from 5,169 units in May 2024. However, it managed a moderate rebound over April 2025’s 3,525 units, likely helped by consumer offers or variant refreshes.
