Hyundai Creta Alcazar Lounge Edition New.webp

The special trim adds an 11.6-inch rear-seat entertainment screen and cosmetic upgrades, positioned as a new range-topper across all three models.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) on Wednesday introduced a new Lounge Edition across the Creta, Alcazar and Creta Electric, adding a rear-seat entertainment system and cosmetic revisions that push each model's pricing past its previous ceiling.

The centrepiece of the update is a 29.46 cm (11.6-inch) rear-seat entertainment screen, which Hyundai says offers OTT streaming, gaming, app-store access and phone mirroring, paired with the existing eight-speaker Bose sound system already available on higher trims. The company has positioned the edition around lounge-style comfort, adding a new Golden Bronze exterior colour, black-painted skid plates, spoilers and roof rails, along with a lighter cabin theme featuring silver inserts and what Hyundai calls Moonwhite ambient lighting.

The Creta Lounge Edition is built on the range-topping King trim, offered with the 1.5-litre MPi petrol iVT and 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel automatic, priced from Rs 19,21,700 for the petrol version and up to Rs 20,45,700 for the top diesel variant, ex-showroom. That puts it above the standard King and just past the previous range-topping King Knight, which tops out at Rs 20.11 lakh. The Alcazar Lounge Edition, based on the Signature trim, is offered only with the 1.5-litre diesel automatic, priced at ₹21,80,700 to ₹21,95,700 — again edging past the existing Signature Knight, which had held the Alcazar's ceiling at around Rs 21.66 lakh. Hyundai describes the Alcazar Lounge as featuring an exclusive five-seat configuration, a departure from the six- and seven-seat layouts that make up the rest of the range, along with a voice-enabled panoramic sunroof. The Creta Electric Lounge Edition, built on the Excellence Long Range variant, is priced from Rs 24,34,100 and rises to Rs 25,22,100 with a home charger bundled in, placing it above the current Excellence LR Knight, which tops out near Rs 24.55 lakh.

"Customers today seek experiences that go beyond mobility," said Amit Dhaundiyal, head of product strategy and planning at HMIL, adding that the edition was designed to blend comfort, technology and exclusivity into everyday journeys.

Across all three models, the pattern is consistent: rather than slotting into the middle of the range, the Lounge Edition has been priced as a new flagship variant, sitting a notch above each model's existing top trim. The move builds on Hyundai's practice of rolling out feature-led special editions timed to the festive buying season, and reflects a broader shift in the mid-size SUV segment, where automakers are using rear-seat comfort and entertainment to differentiate models that already compete closely on space and powertrains.

The Creta remains central to that strategy, holding more than a third of the mid-size SUV segment with cumulative sales past 1.4 million units. HMIL's domestic sales rose 23.6 per cent year-on-year in August to their highest-ever level for the month, momentum against which the company is now betting that in-cabin technology, rather than price alone, will keep its SUV range ahead of rivals sharpening their own feature offerings this festive season.
