The Hyundai Creta and Alcazar Ranger Editions will come with cosmetic changes but are likely to remain unchanged mechanically.
Hyundai Motor India has teased a new variant of the Creta and Alcazar called the ‘Adventure’ edition on its social media handles. The images and video released by Hyundai reveal a Creta or Alcazar finished in a paint scheme similar to the ‘Ranger Khaki’ one on the recently launched Exter. Hyundai does have another special variant for the Creta called the ‘Knight’ edition.
The Creta Ranger Edition and Alcazar Ranger Edition are also likely to get blacked-out elements like the 17-inch alloy wheels, front grille and logo. The interiors, too, should come with green inserts and all-black theme to match the exterior. There’s also an ‘Adventure’ badge on the front fenders to set it apart from other variants of the Creta and Alcazar. AckoDrive had contacted Hyundai to confirm details around this new edition but there's no official launch date as yet.
The Hyundai Creta is powered by two engine options; a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that puts out 114 bhp and 144 Nm of torque. It comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. The other is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that churns out 114 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. This motor can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The Hyundai Alcazar also comes with two engine options; a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged engine that produces 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque. This particular motor comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT transmission. The Alcazar also gets a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel motor that produces 114 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The Creta Ranger Edition and Alcazar Ranger Edition are likely to command a slight premium over the subsequent trim levels and will most likely remain mechanically unchanged from the standard variants. Prices for the Creta range between Rs 10.87 lakh to Rs 19.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while Alcazar retails between Rs 16.77 lakh and Rs 21.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
