Hyundai Teases IONIQ 9 SUV; World Premiere In November

Hyundai has released teaser images of the IONIQ 9 three-row SUV. The sketches do not reveal the full car, but give us a glimpse into what to expect. It’s huge, no doubt about that, and marks the company’s venture into the large SUV EV models. The IONIQ 9 too is based on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and while details are still sparse about the details of the battery pack and even the dimensions of the car, one look at the silhouette and you know it’s a huge SUV and the world premiere is scheduled for November.

The IONIQ 9’s ‘Aerosthetic’ design is a unique blend of aerodynamic performance and aesthetic appeal. Its single-curved roofline, coupled with an elongated wheelbase, indicates to this one being extremely spacious on the inside in all three rows.

The teaser sketches reveal intricate details that enhance IONIQ 9’s overall design quality. The character lines on its side evoke the diagonal lines of the traditional Korean clothing, Hanbok.

Up front the headlamps feature parametric pixels, Hyundai Motor’s signature lighting design for IONIQ models. The multi-spoke wheel design brings out the athletic side of the SUV.
