The automotive world converges on Munich from September 9-14, 2025, with a special press day on September 8, as IAA Mobility 2025 presents the largest international showcase of future transportation technologies. This year's event stands as the most diverse in the show's 128-year history, with over 55 per cent of exhibitors coming from outside Germany, highlighting the truly global nature of modern mobility innovation. The event combines traditional exhibition halls at Messe München with an expansive Open Space experience throughout Munich's city centre, making cutting-edge automotive technology accessible to both industry professionals and the general public. 

German Powerhouses Lead Electric Revolution

Mercedes-Benz takes center stage with the world premiere of the new GLC with EQ technology, marking a pivotal moment in the brand's largest product offensive ever. The fully electric GLC represents Mercedes' answer to growing premium EV demand, featuring advanced 800V architecture and the new MB.EA platform that will underpin future C-Class models. Alongside the GLC, Mercedes showcases the new CLA family including the first-ever electric CLA Shooting Brake wagon, plus a preview of the CONCEPT AMG GT XX - a 1,341-horsepower four-door super saloon that challenges the Porsche Taycan.

BMW unveils its most significant model in decades - the new iX3 as the first production vehicle from the revolutionary Neue Klasse architecture. This groundbreaking SUV promises up to 900km range on CLTC testing, 800V ultra-fast charging delivering 350km range in just 10 minutes, and represents BMW's technological leap in electric mobility, digitalisation, and sustainability. The iX3 debuts alongside BMW's showcase of bidirectional charging technology, allowing vehicles to power homes and feed energy back to the grid.

Global Players Make Their Mark

XPeng Motors stages the European premiere of the Next P7 pure electric sports sedan, featuring the company's AI Tech Tree ecosystem and showcasing IRON, their revolutionary humanoid robot. The Chinese EV leader positions itself as an AI-driven mobility company with advanced autonomous driving capabilities and smart cockpit systems.

Hyundai teases a new global concept car set for its world debut, with design images already creating buzz about the Korean manufacturer's future electric vision. Subaru confirms the launch of three fully electric SUV models specifically for the European market, marking the Japanese brand's serious commitment to electrification. 

Electric Vision & Future Tech

Volkswagen presents four new models at its Munich city-center Open Space, including a fully electric compact SUV previewing the next ID. family member expected in 2026. The German giant also showcases the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE limited edition and the Golf GTI Edition 50 - the most powerful production GTI ever at 325 horsepower.

Opel celebrates the premiere of the Mokka GSE, their most potent EV delivering around 280 horsepower, 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, and up to 336km range. The brand also introduces a fully homologated electric rally prototype, signaling performance credentials in the electric era.

Chery's premium Exeed brand debuts the Exlantix E05 compact SUV featuring innovative range-extender technology - a 32.66 kWh battery paired with a 1.5L range-extender engine for extended versatility. Honda introduces the N-ONE e, a fully electric kei-car compact designed for urban mobility.

Mobility Tech Beyond Cars

Rivian announces a new research and development center in London focused on artificial intelligence and autonomous driving, highlighting the convergence of tech and mobility. Porsche unveils its Fantom e-boat which has set a new speed record, demonstrating electric propulsion's potential across transportation modes.

BMW Vision Neue Klasse X

The Mercedes GLC EV, BMW iX3, and various compact electric SUVs premiering in Munich represent the premium segment that's gaining traction among Indian buyers, particularly in metro cities.
