This year one of the key highlights will be two FMSCI-approved race competitions.
India's largest motorcycle festival will return in 2024 with its first Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) sanctioned racing events, marking a significant expansion into competitive motorsport. The 11th edition of India Bike Week (IBW) — which is set to take place in Vagator, Goa, this December 6-7 — will thus be introducing professional racing alongside its traditional festival elements this year.
The event's racing program will centre around two FMSCI-approved competitions - a dedicated hill climb challenge and a flat track race series developed with Harley-Davidson. Entry is capped up to 81 participants for the flat track event, with registration fees set at ₹1,250, while the hill climb competition will cost ₹1,000 to enter. The total prize pool across all racing events stands at ₹12 lakh. Adding international expertise to the racing segment, former MotoGP and Le Mans competitor Xavier Simeon will also be conducting sessions sharing insights from his professional racing career.
Complementing the professional races, the event will also feature two amateur-focused tracks - the Gulf Syntrac Tiivra Action Games and the IBW Dirt Dash. These additions mark IBW's evolution from a purely lifestyle event to include grassroots motorsport development as well.
The event's new adventure segment will host notable speakers like Elspeth Beard, who rode around the world in 1982, and Indian long-distance rider Meenakshi Das. A dedicated expo section will help riders plan international trips by connecting them with tour operators and providing information about travel permits. Alongside, a road safety sessions will be conducted by advocate Jaswin Bose, while off-road expert Nikhil Sood will share trail riding techniques. The organisers will also run safety awareness programs at colleges in Goa and Pune. Actor and motorcycle enthusiast Amit Sadh will discuss his riding experiences across India. Custom motorcycle displays will include modified bikes from Harley-Davidson's Custom Kings program and Hero's Xpulse motorcycles, selected through a public contest. Lastly, motorcycle art exhibitions and a vintage motorcycle display featuring collections from Joey Postel and regional vintage vehicle clubs.
To mark its ten-year partnership with Jameson, there will also be a storytelling competition for motorcycle clubs, where the winner can win a custom Harley-Davidson Street Bob as well. Besides that, several manufacturers including Hero MotoCorp, KTM, and Brixton will also unveil new products at the event. The entertainment lineup will feature performances by Divine, Brodha V, and OAFF, alongside freestyle motocross demonstrations.
