Chinese smartphone maker Infinix will reportedly launch its latest flagship smartphone, the GT Ultra. It will reportedly be a gaming-centric phone, which will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset that we have seen on the Vivo X100 series, coupled with its own CoolMax technology, which is a new heat management system. Benchmark results of the phone have also surfaced, which include a mind-boggling score of more than 2.2 million, the highest on AnTuTu.
The CoolMax technology is a thermoelectric cooling system which uses the Peltier effect to efficiently regulate the temperature. It uses electricity to create a temperature difference between two surfaces — like the chipset and the cooling plate. It can drop the temperature by up to 10 degrees Celsius.
The phone will also have Pixelworks visual processors, something Vivo also used on the Dimensity 9300 powered X100 series. The display will have a refresh rate of up to 180Hz for full HD+ resolution and 144Hz for wQHD+ resolution, again doubling down on its gaming credentials.
There will also be an Infinix AI algorithm which will dynamically adjust core utilisation in different scenarios to effectively balance performance and battery life.
New charging technology called Infinix AirCharge and Infinix Extreme Temp Battery is included. AirCharge is a new type of magnetic resonance-based wireless charging technology. The extreme temp battery is a new type of battery which supports charging in extremely cold conditions, as low as -40 degrees Celsius.
By the looks of it, the true competitors of this phone will be the Asus ROG Phone and RedMagic.
