No, there’s no website glitch this time round but it is just for the bikes sold in the month of July.
Triumph India has announced a special discount of ₹10,000 for its 400 cc offerings: the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X. The British bike maker has sold a combined 50,000 units of the two in the past one year. This anniversary offer is only valid until July 31, though.
The healthy sales numbers bode well for the Indo-British partnership. With an average of 4000+ units sold monthly, these numbers are bound to grow with production ramping up at the new Chakan-2 plant of Bajaj. There is another bike that is soon to be added to this platform this year, likely to be a cafe racer, which should help further grow the sales numbers.

The Triumph 400s have managed to make the British bikemaker more accessible to not only the Indian masses but also to a lot more countries. In fact, these bikes are sold in over 50 countries, expanding Triumph’s footprint across the globe. Also, Bajaj has managed to increase Triumph’s outlets from 15 to 90 in the past year. This number is also expected to grow over the next year.
Bringing a more spirited touch to the retro experience, the Speed 400 has set new quality levels of what one should expect from an India-made product. It might not have the big beefy road presence of a 400 cc motorcycle but yet is a very competent and peppy urban commuter that can provide you great weekend thrills. However, the Scrambler 400X is the one to get for a more versatile and all-round riding approach. Its suspension is fit for making light work of poor Indian roads with the necessary big bike feel that one expects when they are shelling out over ₹2.5 lakh.
