Here's how to make the best use of your iPhone cameras this festive season.
Diwali, the festival of lights, is right around the corner and having an excellent camera in your pocket is a must to capture all the happy moments. The recently launched iPhone 15 series offers powerful camera systems to help you take stunning photos and videos this Diwali.
So, we got some pro tips from ace photographers - Mohit Varu, Joshua Karthik and Siddhartha Joshi on how to make the best use of your iPhone cameras this festive season.
Experiment with different angles and perspectives to add depth and drama to your Diwali pictures. Use the iPhone's grid feature to adhere to the rule of thirds, placing key elements at intersecting points. We recommend framing your shots with traditional decorations or using leading lines to draw attention to focal points.
Mohit Varu suggests taking advantage of the beautiful lights during Diwali. Use the diyas, candles and fairy lights in the foreground or background to create dramatic silhouettes and portraits. The Portrait mode and the impeccable sensors on the iPhone 15 Pro will give you that professional background blur.
Experiment with different exposure times by tapping and holding the shutter button, allowing you to adjust the brightness and capture the intricate beauty of diyas and fireworks.
It's also recommended to avoid the flash and use available light sources to get a warm, festive mood. The HDR mode helps you balance the exposure between the darker and brighter areas, while the Macro mode will let you highlight the intricate details of rangolis and decorations.
Joshua Karthik points out that the 5x telephoto lens on the 15 Pro Max is excellent for portraits and can make sharp images even in low light with the Night Mode.
The new iPhones can detect people and pets and automatically add depth information to make Portrait mode possible even after clicking the picture.
For capturing videos, Siddhartha Joshi suggests using the iPhone's wide lens in low light for better details. In addition, locking the white balance avoids colour shifts when panning around.
Furthermore, you can eliminate flickering from electrical lights by switching to 25fps from the Settings menu.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max can produce smooth and stabilized videos with the 5x telephoto lens, giving ample elbow room for creative shots.
You can experiment with various modes available on your iPhone even if you don't have the latest one. In fact, some of these tips work for Android camera phones, too. So grab your phone and try out these tips because the only limitation is your imagination!
