iQOO is slated to launch the iQOO 12 series of phones on November 7 in China.
The iQOO 12 is confirmed to be the first smartphone in India powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. iQOO is slated to launch the iQOO 12 series of phones on November 7 in China.
iQOO has announced that the iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro will be unveiled at an event in China on November 7 at 7 PM local time. It makes the iQOO 12 series the first phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Qualcomm's latest mobile chipset.
In India, iQOO took to X and revealed that the iQOO 12 will be the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone in India and will launch soon. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was just announced earlier this week at Qualcomm's annual Snapdragon Summit 2023. It features a prime core clocked at 3.2GHz and is fabricated on a 4nm process. According to Qualcomm, it offers improved AI capabilities, ray tracing support for gaming, better connectivity support, and more camera features.
While iQOO has not revealed full specifications yet, leaks suggest that the iQOO 12 could come with up to 24GB RAM and 1TB storage. It will likely run Android 14 out of the box and feature a 6.78-inch Samsung E7 AMOLED display with 2K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate.
The phone could pack a triple rear camera setup with 50MP primary and ultra-wide sensors and a 64MP telephoto camera. It is tipped to have a 4,880mAh battery with 120W fast charging.
The higher-end iQoo 12 Pro may get similar core hardware but a larger 4,980mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.
As with past launches, iQOO is expected to unveil a special BMW M Motorsport Edition of the iQOO 12 with racing stripes and themes. The brand has partnered with BMW M Motorsport for multiple device launches.
