His departure comes at a time when Stellantis continues to work on expanding its operations in India across products, manufacturing, exports and retail.

Gautam Pandey has stepped down as chief financial officer of Stellantis India, people familiar with the development were quoted as saying by Autocar Professional. Pandey was responsible for the automaker’s finance function in India, including financial planning, reporting and compliance.

The reason for Pandey's departure and his next assignment is not known. Stellantis India's response and details of his successor are awaited.

Pandey joined Stellantis India after holding positions at Nissan, Ford and Tata Power. He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in Delhi.

His departure comes at a time when Stellantis continues to work on expanding its operations in India across products, manufacturing, exports and retail.

The automaker currently sells vehicles under the Jeep and Citroën brands and is preparing to introduce Leapmotor, its Chinese electric vehicle partner, in the Indian market. Stellantis has also identified India and other Asia-Pacific markets as part of its broader strategy to expand local operations and exports.

Stellantis India is headed by Shailesh Hazela, managing director and CEO. The company has been working to strengthen its existing Jeep and Citroën businesses while preparing for the addition of Leapmotor to its portfolio.

The automaker has been seeking to improve utilisation of its Indian manufacturing operations by combining domestic sales with exports. Its India-made Citroën vehicles are exported to overseas markets, while the Smart Car platform developed for emerging markets forms part of the company's product strategy.

The company has also been developing its retail footprint through the Stellantis Brand House format, which brings Jeep and Citroën sales and service operations together at common locations.

Stellantis has been increasing its focus on Leapmotor as part of its global electric vehicle strategy. At its 2026 Investor Day, the company said it holds close to a 20 per cent stake in Leapmotor and operates Leapmotor International, a 51 per cent-owned Stellantis entity responsible for selling the Chinese EV maker's vehicles outside China.
