iQoo will likely release more teasers about the upcoming phone's design and specifications as the launch date approaches.
Shortly after announcing the Neo 9 Pro in India, iQoo has confirmed that it will soon launch the iQoo Z9 5G here. Listing pages have appeared on the company’s own website and on Amazon India. Although there is no indication of any specific launch date, it is likely that the company will tease more information in the days or weeks leading up to it. There’s no mention of a Z9 Pro model yet, though that is likely to follow later considering the Z7 5G was launched in March last year with the Z7 Pro following in August.
iQoo has shown off a teaser of the upcoming Z9 5G’s design. It appears to have flat sides and rounded corners, with an iPhone-like metal frame sandwiched by the flat front and rear panels. The unit shown in iQoo’s teaser has a pastel green frame and a matching rear panel with a diagonal streak pattern.
As for performance, iQoo has confirmed the use of the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, and promises a considerable lead over the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and MediaTek Dimensity 6080 in the AnTuTu 10 benchmark. While the Dimensity 7200 is said to have achieved a score of 734,000, iQoo claims the other two have racked up only 590,000 and 423,000 points respectively.
This could also give us an idea of the upcoming phone’s price and expected competitors. It will go up against the iQoo Z7 Pro 5G as well as the Vivo V27, and Vivo T2 Pro in India, all of which are priced at around Rs. 22,000.
Two rear-facing cameras are visible on the rear camera island, with a dual-tone LED flash to one side and “OIS” printed within one of the raised camera bumps. iQoo’s teasers also confirm the use of the Sony IMX882 image sensor and OIS for the primary rear camera, also claiming that this will be a segment-first.
As per the phone's name, it will support 5G cellular data connectivity. No further details have been officially announced so far. The rest of the teaser page only confirms that iQoo is still using Vivo’s nationwide service centre network and customer care infrastructure.
