The heavily camouflaged test mule indicates the new model will borrow design cues from the Suzuki e Vitara.
A heavily camouflaged version of a new SUV has been spotted testing on our roads and it seems like it could either be the three-row derivative of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara or a facelifted version. If it is the former, it is likely to be based on the same platform as the Grand Vitara but will have quite a few differences compared to the two-row model.
The fact that the test mule shares its doors, ORVMs and even the placement of the fuel filler cap is the same as the regular Grand Vitara hints that this is likely to be either a refreshed version or the three-row derivative.

While it is under heavy camouflage, the spy shots do hint that this new test mule will have a fascia similar to the Suzuki e Vitara that was unveiled recently and is expected to launch in India in 2025. The spy shots show a flatter front end and a split headlamp design. Even the rear shows a similarity to the e Vitara, but the presence of the tailpipe indicates it’s not Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming first EV.
Even the interior of the new model was also covered but the spy shots show that the new model might have a large, floating infotainment touchscreen, possibly measuring the same 9.0-inch in size. Apart from that, there are no further details on the interiors.

Powertrains of the new model are likely to remain similar to the current Grand Vitara. Expect the new Maruti Suzuki SUV to get a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine mated to either a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic or an e-CVT.
If this is the facelifted Grand Vitara, expect it to be priced at a slight premium compared to the current model which is priced at ₹10.99 - 19.93 lakh (ex-showroom, India). If this is the three-row Grand Vitara, expect it to have a much higher price since it will rival the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 700 and MG Hector Plus.
