The involvement of Bollywood actors might bring attention and popularity to the sport, potentially transforming the landscape
Bollywood star and avid motorcycle enthusiast John Abraham will be the owner of the Goa Aces team for the upcoming Indian Racing Festival (IRF). This move is set to bring attention towards the festival and is expected to potentially transform the landscape of Indian motorsports.
The association of John Abraham with Goa Aces, now rebranded as Goa Aces by JA Racing will benefit due to the actor’s immense popularity and his genuine passion for speed and adrenaline. This will attract a wider audience to the sport and his involvement might inspire a new generation of racing enthusiasts and create a strong fan following for the Goa Aces.
The Indian Racing Festival, a brainchild of Racing Promotions Pvt. Ltd. (RPPL), is a marquee event that brings together the best of Indian motorsports. The festival comprises of two major championships - the Indian Racing League (IRL) and the FIA Formula 4 Indian Championship (F4IC). The IRL is India’s first-ever franchise-based racing league, while the F4IC is a platform for young and aspiring drivers to showcase their talent.
With the addition of John Abraham to the IRF family, the festival is poised to reach unprecedented heights. The 2024 edition will witness eight city-based teams battling it out for the podium. The season will end in a night race in Chennai which is a first for Indian motorsports.
The Indian Racing Festival is set to kick off on August 24th and will continue till November 17th, 2024. Ahead of the festival, two teams have already been announced to have collaborations. These two teams will be part of the eight city-based teams competing in the festival, which also includes teams from Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata. It's nice to see Indian organisations and celebrities promoting motorsports in the country, providing a much-needed boost to the sport.
