The move is part of a wider push by Indian automakers to extend their reach into neighbouring markets as domestic competition intensifies.

JSW MG Motor India has forayed into the Nepalese market through a distribution agreement with the Golchha Organization, opening a new showroom in Kathmandu to retail its current vehicle range. The dealership will carry three models, the MG Hector, MG Windsor, and MG Comet, spanning the company's SUV and electric offerings. The launch puts MG in position to tap what is being described as a fast-developing appetite in Nepal for connected and alternatively-powered vehicles.

The move is part of a wider push by Indian automakers to extend their reach into neighbouring markets as domestic competition intensifies and regional demand shows signs of sustained growth.

Beyond sales, the partnership is intended to establish a broader footprint in the country, with both parties committed to developing after-sales and servicing infrastructure to support the growing customer base.

Nepal has steadily attracted greater attention from vehicle manufacturers in recent years as consumer interest in technology-led and cleaner mobility options has gathered pace, prompting several brands to formalise their presence there.

"This dealership is designed to offer a comprehensive and elevated customer experience, backed by modern infrastructure and a strong focus on service excellence," Akash Golchha, Dealer Principal in Nepal, said in a statement.
